High school dissection project

This project aims to:

  1. Compare the pedagogical merit of animal versus non-animal teaching methods in a number of BC high schools;
  2. Educate BC high school science teachers on the merit, range and availability of non-animal alternatives;
  3. Work with the BC Teachers’ Federation on implementing a BC-wide student choice policy in high schools so that all students not only have the right to opt out, but that meaningful non-animal alternatives are offered as part of the BC science curriculum.

This project is funded by LUSH cosmetics, through their Charity Pot program.

We have also received a generous donation from the BC Foundation for Non-Animal Research to start to build a BC-wide non-animal alternatives ‘lending library’.
