CFDA’s NIFDC and IIVS re-affirm, expand partnership to bring non-animal test methods to China

The Chinese Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), has expanded their partnership with the Institute for In Vitro Sciences (IIVS). They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bring non-animal test methods to China for the regulation of cosmetics and ingredients. Currently, China has mandatory animal testing for many products, including special use and imported cosmetics. The CFDA hopes to modernize regulations by developing a plan to equip government laboratories for using non-animal testing methods.
